Kyle breaks down sheet music into its fundamentals to ensure fluent reading. By building good habits from the beginning, Kyle helps his students avoid costly mistakes and bad reading habits.

Monthly Group Lessons

Community matters to Kyle, which is why he holds monthly group sessions for his students to learn and become inspired. Singing, rhythm work, musicianship, and games are all part of the group lesson curriculum,

Popular Tunes

Kyle encourages his students to develop their own unique musical tastes by allowing them freedom to work on popular tunes. He helps them select level appropriate arrangements or figure out the music by ear.

About Kyle

Kyle has dedicated the last 15 years of his life to teaching piano. He has won awards for composing in the Music Teacher Association of California’s Composers Today competition. In the last few years, Kyle co-founded an innovative online lesson startup, designed to deliver low-latency music lessons, ensuring his students could continue their musical education seamlessly. He has also served as an instructor at the prestigious San Diego Piano Academy, recognized as a top music academy in California. Additionally, Kyle has contributed to the broader musical community by annotating his own version of Ferdinand Beyer’s renowned Op. 101, offering valuable insights and guidance for students and teachers alike.

Years of Experience

From 4 years old to 84 years old, Kyle works with students of all ages and expertise.

Experience

With over 15 years of teaching experience and a lifetime of classical training from some of the most renowned pianists of our time. Kyle now channels his time and energy toward pouring his love of piano back into his students. When not teaching, Kyle is preparing his repertoire for a competition hosted by the world’s largest piano meetup group.

Online Lessons

For students not local to San Diego, or in the case of illness or travel, Kyle offers full service online lessons.

Students

With 15 years of teaching experience, Kyle's expertise lies in nurturing his students’ love for music, teaching them fluent reading, proper technique, and music theory comprehension. He specializes in modern composers such as jazz fusion composer Nikolai Kapustin and living legend Lowell Liebermann.

Past Training

As a young adult, Kyle studied with his mentor, Dr. Katz. Dr. Katz coached him through rigorous classical training and prepared him for auditions and performances in masterclasses.
